For Old Time Sake is the outcome of the first TOE moving image workshop, which has gone through 4 months of workshops and shooting, also a long post-production period. We welcome the public to join us at the screening and post-screening sharing session, understand what the participants had experienced throughout the process and whether they had developed other feelings and connections with film after the course.
＊There will be an after-screening sharing session hosted by the Artist Educator, Ellis Yip.
About the film:
Photographs freeze the moments and resist the fading of memory. Aging photographer Uncle Long (Joseph Fung – Hong Kong’s renowned photographer), who had dementia, came across the young and weary Xiao-rong. Under the same roof, they shared life and shed light on each other.
Kwan-yau took ID photos for people at the Immigration office every day. He offered to digitalize Uncle Long’s old photos and on a random occasion, he met Xiao-rong. While he thought it could be a sign in his lonely life, she did not think the same
The digital age manages to shape instant memories, but they fade out fast and fail to catalyze relationships.
